We are in full-on 'Baby Food Mode' around here these days. I'm way into making homemade veggies and starting yesterday, fruits too! It's such a fun adventure. And Scarlett is a GREAT eater.

Since we're so into the baby food thing right now, I was inspired to create today's new kit!

"Nom Nom Nom"

"Nom Nom Nom Alpha"

If the feel and colors of this kit look familiar, its because I made it to coordinate with "Signature Style".

Put them together for one giant mega-kit!!

I've said this before, but one of the perks of being a digi-scrap designer is creating kits that match your own photos. As you can see from my page, I was inspired to create "Nom Nom Nom" by Scarlett's first bites photos . . .

Here's the journaling from my page to tell you the story of Scarlett's first adventure into solids:

At just under 5 months old, we took the leap into solid food! Scarlett had been watching us eat our food very intently for a few weeks, so we knew she was interested. We got everything set: Covered her car seat with a blanket (she wasn’t quite big enough to sit in her highchair yet), got our spoons & bowls out, bought some cute new bibs, and finally mixed up the rice cereal (I mixed it with breastmilk). With video camera & still camera poised & ready, I fed her the 1st bite. She was intrigued. She took another taste. Ooooh this is GOOD. After a little confusion and squirming, she took to it really well. She actually took some big bites by the end. She’s such a fast learner! And she didn’t even get very messy. What a big milestone. I can’t believe how big she is getting so quickly. Too fast baby! Slow down!

How to Rent Bridal Dresses

Brides typically buy expensive dresses only to wear them once and then pay for storage
space. If your wedding dress is one dress that you should wear only once in your life and you do not want to spend big bucks for the it, you can consider renting the dress. Many bridal salons now rent dresses and accessories for a fraction of the purchase price.

1. Check the Yellow Pages and online listings from sites such as Switchboard.com and Whitepages.com to find out where the bridal gown rental companies are in your city or one nearby. Find a wedding dress rental business with a stellar reputation.
2. Visit the shop to look at the dresses. One disadvantage of wedding dress rental is that you'll have fewer options. You must find a dress that fits well and that is in excellent condition, which may take some time.
3. It doesn't make sense to purchase accessories for a dress you don't own, so many rental stores offer wedding dress packages. Try to find a head-to-toe package that includes a veil or tiara, jewelry, undergarments and shoes.
4. Even if it sounds like a good price, ask for a lower price. You will save money here and there and perhaps be able to invest in something new and special that you really want. If the company does not want to drop the price, ask if they can throw in some extras, like a veil and tiara or pair of long white gloves and satin shoes.
5. Read the rental agreement carefully. Pay close attention to charges related to dress damage and make sure you agree with the renter's written description of the dress's condition. Ask questions and express concerns before signing anything. Wedding dress rentals are great for destination weddings. Popular wedding locations like Las Vegas have many bridal rental shops to choose from.

sharin' the memories

I realize that I have been REALLY bad about updating the blog about Scarlett. I thought when I first had her, that would be all I'd be blogging about!! But I'm not doing the best job! So, for those who like to keep abreast of the latest happenings in the World of Scarlett, you'll be pleased to hear I'm going to make a conscious effort to blog more about the babe.

My dear friend, Shantell, let us borrow her Jumperoo, much to Scarlett's delight. She loved it right away, but wasn't jumping at first. She'd sit and play in it though, and loved all the animals and lights and music.

But her world got even more exciting and she fell even more in love with the Jumperoo last Friday when she realized what it's really for . . .

Seriously, Josh and I had total parent-googley-eye as we saw how cute she was jump jump jumping. Her chubby little legs hopping up and down. She's just our whole world and we can't get enough.

Celebrity Beautiful Wedding Cakes

The three-tiered creation, by Fantasy Frostings, had a vintage-home-made feel and was adorned with roses. Hilary Duff chose a cake without frosting for her Montecito wedding to Mike Comrie.

Texas. Each layer of sponge cake was soaked with three different kinds of milk and topped with whipped cream icing. Jenna Bush and Henry Hager enjoyed a four-tier tres leches cake from the Ultimate Cheesecake Bakery in San Antonio, Texas.

Grey And White Wedding Photos

Grey and white wedding photos is a good wedding photos ideas, because it looks different and unique. Few prople can get the grey and white ideas. Doesn't it looks so stylish and beautiful? Perhaps you can have a try.

Arrange Wedding Album

A wedding photo album serves as a precious reminder of one of the most memorable times of your life and it can share your story with friends and family for years. Start with any photos you want to include from before your marriage. Use photos from your childhood or from the time you started dating. Remember that this is your story. Tell it how you want to remember it.

Add photos from your dress shopping trips with friends and family. Photos of the groom trying out tuxedo or suit styles, or getting fitted, can go here as well. Additional items you may add are save-the-date cards, sample decorations you chose and photos of your location. Start with a sample of the wedding invitation. Add any photos taken of the bridal party getting their hair and makeup styled. Photos of the groomsmen tying their ties or otherwise getting ready can be added as well. Place the photos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen walking down the aisle. Devote a page to the bride's entrance. Add pictures of the ceremony in chronological order, culminating in the first kiss. Consider including your list of wedding gifts and photos from the day you opened them. Add photos of yourselves as newlyweds in your home. Determine if you have too many or not enough photos to fill your wedding album. Add or delete as necessary. Write down your thoughts, feelings and memories from the wedding day as soon as possible while your memory is still fresh. The details of funny anecdotes and meaningful conversations might slip your mind later.

I'm sure this is obvious, but one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland is meet characters. Here are some of the fun characters we met on our last trip to Disneyland (Oct. 2010).

Tony Romo's wedding

Wow it looked like a beautiful wedding. Just because Romo posted this video does not mean he can't win a superbowl. If anyone knows anything about football romo has made records and he almost always brought them to the playoffs. The only reason he didnt last year is because his collar bone was broken and that wasnt his fault. If his team protected him better he might have made it. Who knows, he will come back.

Dress for a Wedding Reception

If you're dressed too fancy or not fancy enough, you're going to stand out like a sore thumb. So knowing how to dress for a wedding reception is important. First, pay attention to the invitation. If it indicates anything like formal dress or black tie, then you know you need to dress to the nines for this event. If the reception is going to be outside, you can usually get away with more casual clothing than if the reception will be in a formal ballroom. Unless otherwise specified, a guest is free to select the color of her own attire.Guests should also consider the season when selecting attire colors. But avoid colors that are too loud and patterns that are too wild. If the couple is hosting a theme wedding, such as a renaissance event, they should encourage guests to participate but should not require expensive or unusual attire. While guests should remain attentive to the couples' religious institution's requests, it is usually acceptable for men and women to remove hats, jackets and gloves at the reception. Keep the weather in mind. You should choose clothing that's appropriate to the season in order to be as comfortable as possible. Ask the bride or groom what you should wear. This method is fool proof. It should also be used as a last resort, unless you're very close with either member of the happy couple.

Winter Wedding Tips And Ideas

There are several ways that brides and grooms can choose to add seasonal touches to their wedding. Couples should also remember several important tips to keep themselves and their guests comfortable during their ceremony and reception. Winter is a good time to schedule a wedding, since off-season weddings are often less expensive than summer weddings, but can be just as beautiful. When I think of a winter wonderland scene, I envision an old fashioned frozen pond with people dressed warmly in sweaters, hats, gloves and mittens ice skating on it.You can use fabulous winter elements, like snowflakes, icicles, ice skates and sleds in your decorations. You can create a nostalgic scene by using a dark blue and a light blue with a more country essence, or you could have a sleek and modern winter wonderland by just focusing on the metallic color scheme and using mainly the snowflakes and icicles. With the metallic colors, snowflakes and icicles, I envision a cool, modern and sexy winter wonderland. I've seen little sleds and sleighs at the dollar stores around Christmas. Get the plain ones that can be painted or decorated however you want and use them as centerpieces. You could place flowers or a candle inside each one. A large glass bowl could be used with a tall pillar candle in the middle surrounded by blue, white and silver Christmas balls.Certain foods will add to your winter wedding theme as well as making your guests feel comfortable and cozy at your reception. Hot drinks like mulled wine, cider and cocoa are helpful for warming up guests, as are hot foods like fondue, soup and warm bread.
Winter-Keep warm during your winter wedding. Winter fabrics are warm, thick and rich. You could wear velvet, perhaps not your dress but as capes and cloaks. Other warm winter fabrics include fur, thick satins, and knits. While the experience of planning your wedding can be a whirlwind, you should also remember to take care of essentials when having a winter wedding. Many wedding dresses are strapless or have only thin straps, so brides should make sure to have a shawl, sweater or coat to prepare for cold weather. Brides should also have on hand a pair boots or other shoes.

Famous Wedding Bag

Bridal clutch bags is the very famous wedding bag, every bride should have one, because you will want somewhere handy to store your lipstick, power, tissues and if you have one, a lucky sixpence on you at all times once you have tied that knot. Also it can be a stylish and useful accessory for evenings out after your wedding.

some end-of-summer treats

Summer is on its way out where I live. The cooler temps are here, kids are back in school, the school bus stops right in front of my house. I love it. It's like a little cuckoo clock marking the time! Oh! I hear the bus, must be 7:10 am. Or Oh! I hear the bus, must be 2:30! haha

So - as a farewell nod to summer I have end-of-summer treats:
